Dear Friend
We announce two new milestones for the Palestine Institute for Biodiversity and Sustainability (PIBS) at Bethlehem University: 1) the launch of a monthly newsletter, 2) the receipt of keys to our magnificent new building. You can witness our journey and see the progress on our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/PIBS.PMNH
The new building in our new oasis of hope to advance conservation, education, and justice in Palestine. To bring our vision to life, we need your help to design and implement engaging, state-of-the-art exhibits that will enhance our work for preserving and advancing the rich cultural and natural heritage of Palestine.
We’ve secured a matching grant that will double every donation you make, up to $100,000! This means your generous gift of $50 becomes $100, and $500 becomes $1,000. Our goal is to raise the $200,000 by the end of September to fully unlock this incredible opportunity and create truly inspiring exhibits. Don’t miss this chance to make twice the difference! This progress, and so much more, is made possible by your unwavering support (volunteering and donating). Here’s a glimpse of the vital work you’ve helped us achieve in June alone:
1. Groundbreaking Research: Our dedicated researchers submitted three critical papers and had two others accepted for publication.
2. Community-Based Conservation: We are making excellent progress on our National Geographic Society-funded grant, developing community-based conservation strategies and plans for a crucial new protected area just south of Jerusalem, west of Bethlehem.
3. Preserving Genetic Heritage: Our team is diligently developing a high-quality seed bank that safeguards endangered and important wild and domestic plant varieties, ensuring the genetic diversity of our region for future generations and contributing to global food security.
4. Inspiring Future Stewards: Our children’s program expanded with regular, vibrant activities that motivate and inspire young minds.
5. Resilient Gardens: Despite a remarkably dry and hot year, our botanic garden (eco-garden) and community garden are meticulously maintained and continue to flourish with new species, serving as a living classroom and a testament to sustainable practices.
6. Recognized Excellence: Beyond our Nobel Peace Prize nomination, we received additional accolades and successfully submitted three new grant proposals in June, underscoring our commitment to securing resources for continued impact.
7. Global Collaboration: Our expanding global connections and visits from international partners are building crucial capacities, facilitating invaluable knowledge exchange, and promoting our integrated global responsibilities. Three staff members are in three different countries in June (USA, Canada, and China)!
Your commitment allows us to conduct vital research, implement impactful conservation projects, educate the next generation, provide services to the community, and advocate for environmental justice in Palestine.
Seize this limited-time opportunity to double your impact! Donate today and help us create an inspiring new home for nature: http://palestinenature.org/donations
